Gordon

Gordon was knocked down and then run over by a number of cars in a Kent country lane.

When a cat lover, on a day trip to Sheerness, came across Gordon, she picked him up and thought that he would almost certainly need to be put to sleep because of his injuries.

She took him to a local vet who worked a miracle and soon got Gordon on the road to recovery. Nobody reported him lost, so when Gordon was well enough to leave the vets, the day-tripper, Val, of Sevenoaks, went back to Sheerness to collect him. She paid the vets bill and had Gordon neutered and then brought him to Anim-Mates.

When he first came into Anim-Mates care he used to climb the walls with fright, vomit with fear and soil where he stood.

His road accident injuries meant his bladder did not function for some time so it had to be emptied manually. He is now left with a harelip, a wonky tail and blindness in one eye.

Gordon is a real hunter. Every day he brings mice of all sizes to his fosterer’s door. He is much more happy indoors these days, curled up on a fur rug or next to another cat. Sadly he is still terrified of new things and new people.

Gordon is in the Anim-Mates Care for Life scheme
and will be spending the rest of his life with us
