Ringo

In February 2004, Ringo was found dumped in a cardboard box along with his mum, and three brothers who were estimated to be about 6-months-old.

During exercise, it was noticed that Ringo’s movements were rather strange and far from normal. Nothing showed on his x-rays. The spine and bones looked fine, but as he continued to grow, one of his back legs remained in a withered state and had no strength to it.

While Anim-Mates found homes for the rest of his family, Ringo has remained with us.  Now four years old his leg has somewhat improved.

For a couple of years he lived happily with Flopsy one of his fosterer’s own rabbits. When Flopsy sadly died in 2006, Ringo was successfully moved from Teresa to Lisa, our main rabbit fosterer in Slade Green, where he now shares his life with six of her own rabbits and chickens.

Apart from his leg problem Ringo is a healthy, cheerful lad with a cheeky character who certainly keeps Lisa on her toes.

Ringo manages well with his three normal legs, but can get rather messy and needs to be assisted with his cleaning.

Ringo is in the Anim-Mates Care for Life scheme and will be spending the rest of his life with us.
